Thousands Lost Power in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Intense Storms
Nearly 25,000 households in south-east Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on Monday morning after powerful weather events swept through the area, bringing strong winds reaching 109km/h.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Impact
Residents reported substantial frozen pellets as large as 7cm in some areas. Meteorological experts announced that different parts across Queensland had been affected by significant hail.

Response teams were working to restore electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams working to address the widespread outages.
Southern State's Storm Challenges
Meanwhile, approximately 1,000 residents in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after the capital city experienced its most precipitation in 18 months.
State Emergency Services received 598 emergency reports across the region, mostly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

- Hoppers Crossing suburb - numerous rescue reports
- Wyndham area - nearly 180 emergency requests
At one point on yesterday, in excess of 28k energy customers in the state were experiencing outages.
Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was predicted as the wettest day, with continued thunderstorm potential expected across various areas of both areas.
Medical Alert
Public health experts cautioned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after previous incidents where analogous circumstances led to significant health impacts in the state.
